We are looking for a reliable and proactive Evening Caretaker to provide site supervision, security and support for community lettings outside of the school day. This is an important role in ensuring our school remains a safe, welcoming and well-managed environment for all users.

The postholder will be responsible for evening caretaking and security cover, overseeing school lettings and community use, completing full lock-up procedures, and ensuring all areas are left safe and ready for the next school day.

This is a 52-week post for 16 hours per week, 4pm to 10pm, Monday to Thursday, plus the possibility of non-contractual overtime on alternate Saturdays as agreed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Acting as the main on-site contact for evening, weekend and holiday lettings
• Opening, setting up and securing rooms, halls and facilities
• Carrying out full site lock-up, including alarms and security checks
• Ensuring health, safety, safeguarding and fire procedures are followed
• Light cleaning, tidying and basic maintenance tasks
• Responding calmly and professionally to queries or incidents

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience in caretaking, facilities, site supervision or a similar role
• Can work confidently and independently while being part of a team
• Understands the importance of site security and safeguarding
• Is physically able to carry out walking patrols and manual tasks
• Is supportive of the ethos and values of a Church of England school

Experience of working on a school site is desirable but not essential.
