Bishop Ramseys Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools (SIAMS) report has just been published following a two-day inspection last month.
All church schools are required to be inspected regularly as part of the SIAMS process. We were last inspected in 2018 when we were judged Outstanding in all areas.
We are delighted with the outcome of the latest report which affirms that Bishop Ramsey School is living up to its foundation as a Church school and is enabling pupils and adults to flourish. It has the following notable strengths:
• The vision of ‘Loving, Learning, Living’ is deeply biblically rooted and understood well.
• Leaders embrace the vision in planning a wide-ranging and creative curriculum.
• Spiritual flourishing is at the heart of the school.
• Adults and students live well together in this respectful community.
• The school’s vision emphasises that each individual is worthy of dignity and respect.
Malcom Britton, Headteacher commented:
Our students continue to inspire me as we see them develop wisdom and character. I was so pleased that the inspector got to experience some of this in their two days with us and this is reflected in the report.
Thank you to the students, staff, parents, and church leaders who took the time to speak with inspectors. Thank you also to our trustees for their continued support and guidance.
Fr John Seymour, Trustee - Vision, Ethos and Wellbeing commented:
Trustees are delighted that the comprehensive and inclusive Christian ethos that undergirds Bishop Ramsey's educational vision has been so positively recognised in the SIAMS inspector's astute appraisal and comments.
Students, staff, the wider community, and trustees invest significant time, energy and personal commitment to ensure that Christ may be known as the Way, the Truth and the Life (John 14.6) through the school's culture and educational offer.
The praise and validation of the report are welcome acknowledgement of this effort and are well deserved.
