Lockdown Chaplaincy/Art competition
From January, while the students weren't able to be physically in school, the Chaplaincy with the Art Department ran a "Lockdown Art Exhibition Competition."
Students from all year groups entered. The students were invited to produce pieces of art using whatever media they wished which explored the theme of lockdown either through the lense of nature, animals, the view from their window or with a mental health focus.
We had over 35 submissions and all of them could have won prizes! As art is so subjective we had a judging panel of 4 staff to ensure a range of opinions . We awarded 3 first prizes, 3 highly commended prizes and a 'Certificate of Appreciation' also knowns as 'The Making the Chaplain Cry Award'.
The students created such amazing work through such a difficult and unnerving time and all deserve huge praise for their achievements.
The artwork shown is by one of our winners, Anushka in Year 8, entitled " You Should Always Have Hope".
