    GCSE Results Day 2020

I am particularly pleased and relieved that we were able to share GCSE results with our Year 11 students in an atmosphere of optimism and calm, after the tension and widespread unhappiness that surrounded the distribution of A Level grades.

The decision by the government that each candidate should receive the higher of their Centre Assessed Grade and the grade calculated by the algorithm has meant that our results at GCSE are strong and enable the vast majority of our Year 11 students to progress on to the courses of their choice. A third of our GCSE grades were at grade 7 or above and three quarters were ‘good passes’ at grade 5 or above. My congratulations to all our students on the hard work throughout their time at the school that merited these superb results.

We are delighted that so many of them will be continuing at Bishop Ramsey following A Levels. We are also very pleased to welcome a good number who are joining Bishop Ramsey Sixth Form from other local schools.
