    Christmas Drama Production

On Thursday 6th December 2018, the Drama Department hosted an evening to celebrate all the wonderful things that have been happening within our extra curricular clubs. In our first act the Drama Club treated us to some comical extracts from the book 'Please Mrs Butler', by Alan Alberg.  They had all the audience laughing and it was also so lovely to see a mix of students from Years 7-11 working together.  In the second Act we opened with an extract from 'Journeys End' to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War. This extract was directed by Katie Hall (Year 9) and was an extremely moving and powerful piece that captured the hearts of many. Following this, a snippet of 'A Twelfth Night' was performed by our School's Shakespeare Festival Club. They had performed this previously at the Harrow Arts Centre and due to the success, they performed again for us. This was directed by Nathan Pike and Rachel Dunleavey (Year 11) who also did a fabulous job of comparing the evening in rhyming couplets. To finish off the evening, The Glee Club sang two songs for us, 'Welcome to the Sixties' from Hairspray and 'There is a Santa Claus' From Elf the musical, which left the audience feeling extremely festive and ready for the holidays. The students worked extremely hard on the performance and, more importantly, had lots of fun in the process. For my first show at Bishop Ramsey I was extremely proud of them all and so impressed with their professionalism and ability to work so nicely as a team. Thank-you to all the parents who came and supported us and we look forward to seeing many more of you in the summer for 'The Addams Family'.
