Sixth Form Work Experience in France
On 12th November in St Pancras, Year 13 students French students were huddled over lattes (it was really early!) ready to start their journey to France for the first ever Bishop Ramsey Sixth Form French Work Experience programme.
The students were nervous and excited but looking forward to immersing themselves in French language and culture as well as gaining experience in the world of work. Year 13 spent a week with French families in Le Havre and a week working in a French Primary school called Saint Roch. The French families were amazing – hospitable, welcoming and really looked after them. Students worked every day with students – helping in English classes, judo lessons, chess lessons and trips to the swimming pool. BR students had the unique opportunity to read, speak, listen and chat in French for the duration of their time abroad. With a quick visit to Paris thrown in! They have come back full of stories and memories of their time. Thank you to the French Families, Madame Labat (Miss Hofmann’s contact in school) and staff and students at Ecole Saint Roch. A wonderful experience for them all!
