Paris. The City of Lights….and 44 excited Year 8 French students. On the 4th December we left Bishop Ramsey for a three day, two night stay in this beautiful city. We spent a whole day in Paris seeing the sights (Miss Hofmann thoroughly enjoyed her role as tour guide!), learning about the history at an interactive museum and visiting the Christmas markets. Students had to practise their French and had the opportunity to sample some French food from the various stalls.
In the afternoon we had a leisurely cruise down the River Seine to see the Ile-St-Louis and the Notre-Dame Cathedral. We had a great dinner at the Hard Rock Café. We finished the day with a starlit, night-time trip to the top of the Montparnasse Tower where we experienced a breathtaking view of the City of Lights complete with Eiffel Tower light show. The second day was spent at Euro Disney which was magical. The trip was thoroughly enjoyed by all involved and was a perfect way to have a taste of French culture and language as well as see Paris in its wintertime splendour. Thank you to Mr Jeffries, Mrs Dhir, Mrs Pittaway and Mr Totham for accompanying the trip with Miss Hofmann.
You can find out more about the trip in the March edition of the Recorder.
