School Council

The School Council at Bishop Ramsey is an important part of school life and is the main way for the student body to ensure that their opinions are heard and taken seriously. The student councillors are proposed and elected by their peers to represent their views and raise issues with the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees. They are also involved in strategic planning and processes such as the School Development Plan, Trustee vists and Focus Group meetings and staff appointments. The School Council at Bishop Ramsey helps to:

  • acknowledge students as a vital resource
  • build students’ self-confidence and self esteem
  • create positive peer pressure and leadership
  • develop young citizens
  • enhance the school community.
