A Christian Learning Community

    About Us

    Welcome from the Executive Head

At Bishop Ramsey we are proud to be a world class Christian learning community. As a Church of England School we work closely with the Diocese of London and education at Bishop Ramsey is based on our Christian view of the world. Our distinctive aims and values outlined here seek to ensure that every student has the opportunity to develop their individual skills and talents and that they become responsible and caring adults. This was highlighted in 2018 in our latest SIAMs inspection (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) which graded us as Outstanding in all areas and concluded that “The School’s deeply embedded Christian foundation successfully shapes its life as, ‘a Christian learning community.’ Students are confident, respectful and compassionate young people.”

This is an exciting time in the school’s development. In the years since our Ofsted Outstanding grading, we have continued to strive for improvement. In 2016 we also became an Ofsted approved SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) Centre, which allows us to recruit and train the very best teachers for Bishop Ramsey and other local schools. In July 2018 we were also reaccredited as a World Class School, one of only 16 schools in the country to have achieved this status.

Bishop Ramsey has an excellent reputation for academic excellence with impressive GCSE and A Level results; a consequence of our relentless commitment to ensuring that each and every student achieves of their very best. We are also committed to continually developing our outstanding facilities with, most recently in August 2018, an extensive project resulting in high quality dedicated sixth form study areas and facilities.

As you would expect, we are doing all in our power to ensure that every student continues to receive the best possible education through the Coronavirus crisis. We have set up imaginative and comprehensive systems to maximise the safety of all members of our school community and to ensure that the quality of our education remains excellent throughout the pandemic.

Both staff and students are very proud of all that we do here and we would be delighted to tell you more. Please do look at our website and online prospectus for further details. You are welcome to contact the school office on 01895 639227 if you have any further questions.
