2012/2013 Autumn Term
42 parents attended the meeting on 2nd October 2012 which was chaired by Mrs Denning, a parent governor. Mrs Dimmock, Chair of the Governors’ Communication Committee was also present. Ms Gavaghan (Deputy Head Teacher) and Mr Poole (Assistant Head Teacher) represented the school.
The Group discussed a wide range of topics. There was a presentation the Literacy Policy and the Green Pen Policy by Miss Niiranen from the English faculty. Mrs Fox also gave a presentation on RE homework and level descriptors.
There was also a very useful discussion on Uniform Reinforcement and the Sixth Form Dress Code. Detentions and Portable Devices in school and the Associate Parent Governor vacancy/Parental attendance at Governors’ Communication Committee Meetings were also discussed.
Under “Any other Business” the following issues were raised:

Availability of food during the 3rd lunch-breakGifted and Talented Groups.
All of the above issues will be considered by the School’s Leadership Team and by the relevant Governors’ committees.
The next meeting of the Parents’ Link Group will be held on Tuesday 5th February 2013 at 7.30pm in the School Hall. There is no formal membership of the group and all parents/carers are welcome.
