      Lockdown Science Club Competition Winner!

Science Club is much loved at Bishop Ramsey as it gives students the chance to explore ideas and conduct experiments that are not covered by their timetabled classes. This year, against the backdrop of the nationwide lockdown, we were presented with a challenge - how can students experience the fun & excitement of Science Club from home?

To answer this question, we decided to run a competition to find the 'Best Ideas for Lockdown Science Club.'  We challenged students to come up with ideas for science experiments that can be conducted safely at home with everyday items. We were overwhelmed by the quality of submissions, and many students took the time to create video demonstrations of their favourite experiments.

Choosing the winners was nearly impossible due to the high quality of submissions, but the judges felt that the submission from Julia, 7E, and her 'Teabag Rocket' experiment stood out in terms of fun, innovation, safety and ease of reproducing at home.

Congratulations to Julia, who receives a certificate and winner's trophy, and we look forward to running this experiment in Science Club! Thank you to everyone who participated and if you would like to learn more about Science Club, please contact Miss Jakku in the Science Office.
