Changes at the top of Bishop Ramsey
Following our successful bid to set up Bishop Arden and other possible developments to our Multi-Academy Trust, for the period 1st January – 31st August 2017, Mr Wilcock has taken on the role of CEO and will step back from the day to day leadership of Bishop Ramsey to concentrate on these developments. Mr Wilcock will continue to play a full role in the strategic leadership of Bishop Ramsey.
Mrs Watson will take the title of Acting Head of School for this period and will oversee the day to day running of the school. She will be assisted by Mr Lunnon who will be Acting Deputy Head.
After an illustrious career in teaching and school leadership, Ms Gavaghan retired on 31st December 2016.
Ms Gavaghan joined Bishop Ramsey in 1992 as Head of Lower School and was Deputy Head since 2002. Her contribution to the school has been immense; she has had responsibility for pastoral care and safeguarding, oversaw the School Council and spearheaded the school’s charitable work. Ms Gavaghan brought to all her work a calmness and natural authority and has unfailingly dealt with students with fairness and compassion, rooted in her own Christian faith. We wish her great happiness with the next chapter of her life.
Ms Gavaghan’s retirement led to a restructuring of some roles within Bishop Ramsey. Miss Maycock has taken on the responsibility for Pastoral Care within the school. Mr Britton has taken the lead on safeguarding, charitable work and the School Council, whilst retaining his leadership of the Religious Education Faculty and the Chaplaincy Team. Mr Britton will also oversee the Inclusion Faculty.
