Well, the temperature has fallen and winter is on its way. As we look back on the last few weeks, there is so much to be thankful for and proud of.

Congratulations to the Girls Active team for their appearances on TV, publicising the importance of girls getting involved in sport. It’s great to see our students using their communication and leadership skills and approaching what they do with such commitment and drive.

Similar determination has been shown by the six finalists in the Y10 Speakout competition, who presented to their Y9 and 10 peers in assembly. The students spoke eloquently about topics close to their hearts, such as politics, immigration and depression, proving teenagers have incredibly important things to say, experiences to share and a passionate voice to be heard.

If anyone has seen the art work on display in the atrium, you will have seen how creative and thought provoking the displays are. I see students who are not afraid to push boundaries, expect the best of themselves and be outstanding. That is something to be thankful and proud of.
