Well, the autumn term is now in full swing and we can welcome the extra curricular opportunities that brings, with book clubs, computing, football, martial arts, rugby, drama, CU and music to name just a few!
So many trips are in the planning too, now that enrichment activities have taken the place of homework in some KS3 subjects. Staff are busy designing activities which will really stretch, challenge and allow students to experience subjects and learning in a different way.
There is also success to celebrate already, with 18 students’ poetry being selected to be published by the Young Writers and trials for the sports teams taking place in all year groups. In assemblies this week though, students have also considered the importance of failing ‘forward’ and how to turn failure into success, rather than letting it define us.
‘Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do... Explore. Dream. Discover.’
